Three Battles

Joe Sacco, Nidan, started his Uechi Ryu studies at the Northern River Karate School in 1992 in the third grade. He remembers seeing an ad in his school bulletin and having a friend in the program. Joe has gone from being one of the youngest (and smallest) students in the program to become one of NRKS’s most formidable (and biggest) training partners.

Joe is a university student now, in his third year as an Education Major. He enjoys weight lifting, running and science.

“Karate has become a significant part of my life. It has taught me the value of commitment and cooperation inside and outside the dojo. The most positive experience for me would have to be the atmosphere created by a group of students working together, some of whom have known each other for years.”
