Privileges of Responsibilities

Membership: With the approval of the Program Director and by completing the registration form and paying your membership fees you are a member of the ENRKSA and are entitled to take part in the Karate program, and in special events hosted by the Association.
Members 18 years of age and over are considered “full members” and are entitled to attend and speak at all meetings of the association, and may serve on the ENRKSA Board.

Fees: The Association asks that fees be paid with 12 post-dated cheques.

Resignation: Any member may resign by sending written notice to the Secretary or the President of the Association. If a member has not paid membership fees within six months following the due date, s/he is considered resigned.

Dismissal: Martial arts training can be a deeply rewarding and enjoyable experience, but the skills acquired carry with them a responsibility to behave with the best  intentions. The Association bylaws empower the Program Director to suspend or dismiss any member who does not show the utmost respect and care for others. No member may be suspended more than once in a twelve month period. Dedicate your practice to the benefit of those around you.

Participation: Participation in the activities of the association is very beneficial to students’ development and is encouraged. Participation can include serving on the board or on committees or helping out on various projects undertaken by the association. These activities help each student to feel involved, improve the school, and generally help to keep fees low. On the other hand, no member needs to feel pressured to participate beyond their individual need to make some contribution to the life of the school.
