Brent Gibson (Shodan) began his
studies in 1994. Brent is co-owner of Camrose
Custom Cabinets and was originally drawn to NRKS by the school's
family orientation. Brent is an avid golfer, and also enjoys skiing,
biking, racquet sports and movies.
He says "I enjoy participating in many sports
and Uechi ryu is a good fit with them all - body mechanics, conditioning and
focus are common elements".
Brent is married with two boys, who have each studied
Uechi Ryu for 12 years.
"We
all need to keep learning and with Uechi ryu you have great opportunities
to learn the physical and mental aspects of a traditional martial
art. My experience is that the more you learn, the more you
find you need to learn and want to learn - it is a journey that one
can enjoy for a lifetime."
