Jennifer is NRKS's most senior student. She acts as the
school's Personnel Advisor and teaches the Tuesday night Yoga class.
An accomplished professional violinist, she started her Uechi studies
in 1990 while in her final year of her undergraduate degree at the
University of Alberta. She met Ken playing "The Wizard of Oz"
that year in Yellowknife, NWT, and says she was "intrigued
when Ken demonstrated his toe-fist by kicking a wall repeatedly."
Jennifer leads and manages the Strathcona
String Quartet and runs her own private music teaching studio.
She practices Yoga, and enjoys cross-country skiing, running and
weight lifting. Every chance she gets, Jennifer is out riding her
Quarter Horse, Maggie.
She lives with Ken and his daughter,
Ann, in Edmonton.
"Uechi
has been good for my confidence,my strength and my back."

Jen puts Ken in his place. "Ok, ok, I'll get
a haircut!"

of energy to control the force of a thousand pounds. Such techniques as
these do not depend on brute force to overcome."
